Registration Now Open for WorldSafe Summit: Conference Website, Twitter Page Launched
WINONA, MN & Atlanta, GA – Registration is now available online for the First Annual WorldSafe Summit to be held at the Omni Hotel @ CNN Center in Atlanta.
A Twitter account – with the handle @TFGS_Conference – has also been started. ‘Tweets’ will regularly update information on the conference including confirmed speakers, new sponsors and other advancing ‘news reports’ related to the event.
Miller Ingenuity CEO Steve Blue, the catalyst for launching this inaugural conference – notes that between 300 – 500 corporate, governmental agency and non-profit executives are expected to attend. Early registrants will get ‘discounted prices’ as well as an opportunity to hold prime exhibit space for the three-day event to be held October 26-28 adjacent to the headquarters of CNN.
The conference will be focused on 5 areas that impact safety in everyday life including:
- transportation (rail, air, auto/trucking and emerging ‘autonomous’ vehicles)
- community safety (including community policing, protecting female athletes and aiding veterans)
- disaster resiliency (including mitigating the effects of weather- and man-made events such as active shooters as well as educating citizens on risk-avoidance)
- technology/cyber security
- global issues such as fighting human trafficking and climate change
‘Training for Global Safety‘ is co-sponsored by UPS, originator of Safe America’s ‘BE Safe America’ and WorldSafe initiatives. Together with Miller Ingenuity, the Conference will be another step in providing innovative, technologically advanced safety solutions for the transportation sector, with a special focus on the rail industry.

Blue noted that the Safe America Foundation was chosen as Miller Ingenuity’s partner for staging this conference because of its reputation in advancing emerging issues.

Safe America Foundation President & CEO Len Pagano noted the ‘WorldSafe Summit’ will feature a ‘kick off’ with Olympic and pro athletes at the College Football Hall of Fame. Entitled ‘Play It Safe, America,” the evening event will focus on the need to protect female athletes and reducing trauma from sports for both pro and amateur athletics.
“We’ve been saying for more than two decades that America needs to ‘play it safe’ – at home, work, on the Internet and in the car,” Pagano observed. “By involving Olympic Gold Medalist Nancy Hogshead-Makar, former NBA Star Kevin Willis and other pro athletes and celebrities, we’ll kick off a multi-year effort to protect our most precious assets – youth, women and all Americans.”
Experts and interested organizations from Australia, Canada, the UK, Germany and Mexico are among early global parties expected to attend. The Trump Administration is being invited to share its vision of how it plans to rebuild America’s transportation infrastructure while protecting citizens from terrorism and cyber threats. Additionally, experts will look at whether certain communities should be taken off ‘economic life support’ after catastrophic disasters like Katrina; and, how to utilize drones to protect communities and major assets like nuclear power plants.
The ‘Training for Global Safety’ Conference will also focus on emerging research from major universities such as Rutgers and Columbia. Original research will be shared, and participants will preview new technological devices and get to rehearse & practice how to react to an active shooter incident – and how to train their employees in advance to ‘anticipate’ how to handle a catastrophic event.
